If you are fed up of wiping and
cleaning up condensation and breathing polluted air you could
consider fitting one of the following to help.
1) Nuaire Drimaster
Condensation Ventilation Loft Unit
When I have installed these units
for my customers they have been happy with the results. Just a
penny a day to run. Call me on 01685 383729 or use the
contact form - if you would like a free survey and
estimate (Merthyr Tydfil Borough area).
Nuaire Drimaster Condensation Ventilation Loft Unit
Cure condensation
dampness and remove allergens and pollutants from the home with
the low- energy ventilation system from the inventors of PIV.
The Drimaster offers cost-effective whole home ventilation for
two and three story homes with lofts.
The unit you see above fits in your
loft space and is barely audible when running. All you see in
the room below is a discreet white moulded fan grill fitted into
your ceiling. An electronic sensor continually monitors your
room air temperature to adjust the fan as required.
2) Wall Extractor
Fans
These come in various guises
however all perform the same basic function - to extract damp or
polluted air to outside your property. There are axial,
centrifugal, cooker hood extractors.
Axial - the most popular
variety, ideal for bathrooms, toilets and smaller rooms where
the fan is ducted straight through the wall or window. Most will
extract between 70 and 90 m3/hr.
Centrifugal - these are usually a larger ' box' shape and
can extract 100m3/hr - useful for longer duct runs and more
sizeable rooms.
Cooker hoods - beware as there are two main types -
Ducted or extraction. Extraction hoods need to be mounted on an
external wall unless there is already ducting in place.
Typically 300-400m3/hr extraction rate at full speed however
noise levels can be a disadvantage at that level. Recirculation
hoods filter smells then send the cleaner air back into the
room. Note they will not remove dampness. These hoods require
replaceable filters and can be situated on internal walls.
